In my experience not sure we’ve had a situation similar to the Bauer suspension. I think the question is like: Should the owning team be granted some extraordinary dispensation based on the nature of the suspension etc?
The Padres propose that the owning team be permitted an additional active player in the event that a player is put on such suspension, in other words, the owner should not be penalized. The BOD might consider such an item in their next session.

What is your reasoning that this should be treated differently from a PED suspension?

Agree with Gordon on this.
On what grounds? We give enough bench spots. No need for this.

Gordon was asking a question to gain insight rather than stating disagreement. Lol!
Drug offenses are verifiable through medical testing - the results of which are most difficult to refute. The punishment is a fixed time period.
Sexual assault allegations are much harder to verify, with the league continuously suspending the player - almost indefinitely - therein lies the difference. In such cases, why should a fantasy GM be penalized for the league’s indecision.
Oh my!!! It had to be Bauer (who holds the record for throwing the longest ball into the centerfield picnic area during regulation time at Progressive Field - one of my favorite spots).
