Free agency will begin tomorrow at 6 p.m. EST.
Free agency will be done on the proboards, but will follow the same format as the group page. You need to post the Players name, position and team. You may not be less than the league minimum.
However, free agency, at least for the start of the year, will be done differently. Since we are low on time, each free agent will ONLY be available 48 hours from the opening bid on that first player. So if Jon Lester gets bid on at 6:06 PM EST on 3/11 the thread will be open until 3/13 at 6:06 PM EST. The highest bid will win and the contract will follow our free agent rules (the winning bid will be the players contract for three years, then reset to their real MLB contract). Only one thread per player so please check to see if the player's thread was already started. Duplicate threads will not count and will be deleted. Moreover, please check to make sure the player is not owned by another manager and has at least 1/3 IP or 1 AB else they will not be eligible for bidding. Players in the minors or real life MLB free agents are also ineligible to be bid on until they are signed by a real life team.
All teams must be roster and cap compliant (no more than 25 active players, 10 minors and within the salary cap floor and ceiling), by March 19th at 6PM so we can get spreadsheets up to date prior to first pitch on the 20th.
After the deadline, all roster moves (trades, new bidding threads) will be frozen temporarily to allow the spreadsheet managers to do what we need to do.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Free agency will be condensed so I need everyone's help to make sure this goes smoothly.
