1. Player pool for the rule 5 draft can be found in the spreadsheet, rule 5 draft list 2020 tab.
2. You can only select players from this list.
3. Selected players MUST be kept on your active 26-man roster for the ENTIRE 2021 season. You cannot send this player down to your minor league system or N/A. If you do so, or release said player, you lose rights to the player and they return to their parent club (i.e. the club who posted them). This means if you draft a rookie, they MUST stay on your roster even if they are not in the big leagues.
4. You inherit the players contract as listed on the spreadsheet as is.
5. The deadline to declare your 26 man active roster and 14 protected minors (less than 130 ABs or 50 IP), as previously mentioned is 1/31 (today).
6. If you have a player who ended up on 10 or 60 day IL, these need to be handled on a case-by-case basis. Put differently, if they are NOT expected to start the year with the team and will begin the season on IL, they do not have to be on the 26 man roster.
If the player, per recent news posts/twitter/etc, is expected to be on the active roster on opening day they are assumed to be healthy and thus must be on your 26 man roster.
If you are unsure on how this may impact you, please ask ASAP.
7. Picks are optional (i.e. you do not have to make them). If you know you will not be making picks, please state you are passing.
8. Each team will get 12 hours to make their selection. As stated above, please pass if you do not intend to use the pick.
9. All undrafted players will be returned to their parent organization after the draft concludes. They will count against your salary cap once returned.
10. Picks cannot be traded.
11. Tentatively the draft will start at 5pm EST on 2/1. Much like the rookie draft, it will be held on the proboards.
If any of the above is unclear, PLEASE ask questions and hopefully someone from the BoD can answer.
